Penn's Way: Going the Distance for our Community

Dear colleagues,

Penn’s Way, our annual University of Pennsylvania and Penn Medicine workplace giving campaign for faculty and staff, kicks off on Thursday, Oct.1. The “Going the Distance for Our Community” campaign offers a matching gift program that gives you the opportunity to maximize donations to the causes that matter most to you. Faculty and staff can choose from hundreds of charitable organizations on the Penn’s Way site. To record a donation and receive a match, make your contributions through the site by the end of the campaign on Friday, Nov. 20. 

We are also grateful to campaign co-chairs Kathleen Shields Anderson, JD, MBA, Penn VP of Public Safety, and Raina Merchant, MD, MSHP, UPHS VP and Chief Transformation Officer, as well as our many coordinators, department captains, and other staff volunteers, for their hard work to make Penn’s Way a continued success. How the match works

- We’ll match 100% of your donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,500.
- Any amount you give beyond $2,500 will be matched at 50% (up to a total matched amount of $20,000).  

Last year, the campaign donated more than $6.4 million to support a wide range of efforts—from providing meals to protecting forestland to purchasing library books. Together, let's build on that momentum. Make your gift, max your match, and share why you give by posting on social media using #OurWayPennsWay.
